Eyelid surgery also known as Blepharoplasty is a procedure that removes the extra droopy skin and fat from the eyelids. This makes eyelids feel lighter, improves the appearance and gives the patient a refreshed youthful look.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthetic and takes approximately 60 minutes.

The little injection will be used to numb the area and the procedure will then be pain free.

The excess of skin will be excised and the wound is then closed with sutures and covered with a dressing. It is normal to have some bruising and swelling after the surgery. It usually takes two weeks to settle down. Scars tend to fade away after few months.

95% of the cases are complications free, however, we have to make patients aware that with any sort of surgery there is a small risk of complications such as bleeding, infection, scarring, deformity, etc.

The aftercare will be all explained to you at the end of the procedure. Sutures are usually removed 7 days after surgery.
