Split or Stretched Earlobe Repair is a procedure that reconstructs the earlobe and restores its normal shape. A local anaesthetic injection will be used to numb the area and the procedure will then be pain free. An incision on the skin is made and reconstruction is performed.
The defect is then reconstructed using sutures and will be covered with a dressing. Scars tend to fade away after few months. The exact aftercare will be all explained to you on the day of surgery and sutures are usually removed after 10 – 14 days.
95% of the cases are complications free, however, we have to make patients aware that with any sort of surgery there is a small risk of complications such as bleeding, infection, scarring, deformity, etc .
